Andrew Forsthoefel

Andrew Forsthoefel

Andrew Forsthoefel is a writer and speaker living in Maine. After graduating from Middlebury College in 2011, he spent a year walking across the United States listening to the people he met along the way. His memoir of the journey, “Walking to Listen,” has been assigned as required reading in high schools and colleges across the country.

Andrew writes and speaks about solitude, consciousness, masculinity, revolutionary love, and the discipline of trustworthy listening. He offers his work with the hope that it will be a good companion for those on the journey of personal healing and cultural transformation. He also facilitates workshops for young men in developing emotional literacy, processing what it has meant to be a man, and imagining what it could mean. Pete McLean

Pete McLean

Here's the bio that Pete would write about himself to make his teachers and parents happy and proud:

"Peter McLean has been working with groups of people for the past 15 years as a coach, farmer, educator, naturalist, facilitator, student life coordinator, speaker and event coordinator.  He's made connecting people to themselves and each other his mission and life work.  He serves as the Area Steward for Mankind Project New England, contributes regularly to ReImagining Masculinity, and has worked with over 1000 young men in exploring what it means to be a man today."

And here's the bio that makes him happy and proud:

"Pete McLean is a crazy ball of beauty and brawn.  All love and loyal, fierce and funny.  He can't help but be curious about you and he'll learn you and all your homies' names in one meeting   Pete's as tender as he is big.  215 pounds of tender softie pretending he's not while wearing a moustache and carhartts.  Don't be fooled.  He's sugar sweet.  His dog is Foxy and might just be the best boy.  Of all the swims, its gotta be the river.  Of all trees, its gotta be the walnut.  And of all the seasons, Winter.  Pete's a force.  And is learning to fall ever more deeply in love with himself, and to trust the still, small voice, more and more.  He can get as quiet as he can loud.  As sad as he can happy.  He's a full-on human being, alive and alove, and feeling it all."
