We do not have answers, no map, no formula.
But by the fire of our sincerity and shared attention, we hope:
to explore a few simple processes to expand our emotional literacy and deepen our self-inquiry
to witness each other in our truth and be witnessed
to share the struggles, joys, and questions that our lives are bringing to us at present
to reflect in a safe and respectful container about how masculinity has uplifted us, wounded us, and informed our perceptions of others and the earth
to practice reverence, empowered vulnerability, and authentic expression
Sliding Scale Pay Structure
Expressing vulnerably and truthfully is a practice.
The Brothers' Hearth provides support, care, respect, and tender listening in the deepening of this practice.
YMA offers the Hearth as a practice space... and as a way of life.
Drawing on Dr. Bayo Akomolafe's innovative pay structure, we are offering this course on two different sliding scales:
For those with lower access to wealth in our global context, the fee is $100-300.
For those with greater access to wealth in our global context, the fee is $300-1000.
To decide which scale you belong on, and where, please consider:
where your ancestors exist on the spectrum of historical discrimination
your income streams, existing or anticipated (will you receive an inheritance? are you being supported by family? do you have investments?)
whether you have people who depend on you for financial support
the socio-economic conditions of your neighborhood
